Among the best countries for mothers

Belarus is 25^th globally in the ranking of the most comfortable countries for motherhood and is among the top 50 states in terms of pregnancy and childbirth conditions 

According to Yelena Ulezko, the Deputy Director for Paediatrics at the Republican Mother and Child Scientific and Practical Centre, over the past decade, maternal mortality has been reduced by more than ten times.

“Child mortality in the Republic stands at 2.6 percent per thousand births – which is very good. We have the opportunity to conduct 98 percent of the ultrasound examination and exclude over 1,500 prenatal problems. Our Centre works with premature babies and 86 percent of them survive,” Ms. Ulezko notes.
