American journalist admits refugees receive aid only from Belarusians
CNN’s Matthew Chance visited the Belarusian-Polish border to see first-hand that Poles provide no assistance to refugees, while simply escalating the situation
Back in September, Aleksandr Lukashenko – during an interview with CNN – invited the journalist to talk with refugees. However, an American reporter took advantage of this opportunity only a short while ago – as ont.by journalists noted.
Mr. Chance arrived at the border jointly with a Belarusian TV crew – which was understandable: Poland does not allow civilians to approach the area, while journalists are forbidden to work there.
The American also told viewers that armed soldiers from Poland’s territory let neither women nor children – there are really many of them in the camp – cross the border towards Europe. Meanwhile, people are begging for help. Mr. Chance also got convinced that only the Belarusian side provides assistance – such as water, food, clothing and firewood – to refugees.
Interestingly, unlike his Belarusian and Russian colleagues who work at the border around the clock, the CNN correspondent spent only a couple of hours in the camp.
