Amendments are being made to the Statute of the National Bank of Belarus, according to Decree No. 345, which was signed by President Aleksandr Lukashenko on September 30th, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
The document was adopted to enhance the efficiency of the National Bank and includes amendments to Decree No. 320 (dated June 13th, 2001) On Approval of the Statute of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
It legally establishes the National Bank’s co-ordinating role in the activities of government bodies, banks, non-bank credit and financial institutions, as well as other organisations within its functional scope.
The decree grants the National Bank the authority to set the procedures for opening and closing branches of foreign rating agencies in Belarus.
It specifies that the Bank’s Bard operates through sessions and outlines the methods for conducting them.
Additionally, the Statute is updated to grant the National Bank the same powers as the Council of Ministers to issue regulatory legal acts necessary for fulfilling its legislatively assigned tasks and functions, without requiring explicit authorisation to adopt each specific act.
