The parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to the implementation of the agreements reached by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the President of Zimbabwe, Emerson Mnangagwa, during the state visit of the Belarusian leader to Zimbabwe.

The two sides discussed in detail plans to expand political dialogue and implement a rich economic agenda. Dmitry Krutoi noted the interest of the Belarusian side in ensuring a dynamic growth in trade volumes, indicating Belarus’ readiness to participate in the next stage of the Zimbabwe farm mechanisation programme by supplying various types of agricultural equipment, modernising and building granaries. The range of Belarusian exports to this country is also increasing due to the supply of fire trucks and quarry machinery, as well as food, medicines, fabrics and chemical fertilisers.

The Belarusian Ambassador positively noted the contacts between the two countries’ business circles, including within the framework of the recent Belarusian-Zimbabwean business forum in Harare. Ambrose Mutinhiri highly appreciated the level of bilateral relations, stressing the significant potential for joint work across all areas of co-operation: mutual trade, liaisons, legal framework, etc. He drew attention to the constructive interaction of our countries on international platforms and expressed confidence in maintaining this course in the future.

The parties agreed that an important component of the intensive Belarusian-Zimbabwean dialogue will be the ministerial visits planned for this year and the meeting of the Joint Standing Commission on Co-operation. Dmitry Krutoi and Ambrose Mutinhiri highly appreciated the unity of approaches of Belarus and Zimbabwe to the formation of a just world order based on multi-polarity and respect for the UN Charter, and spoke in favour of strengthening collaboration in the face of growing threats to the sovereignty and independence of states from the collective West, including illegal unilateral sanctions.

Dmitry Krutoi invited Ambrose Mutinhiri to visit Belarus to get acquainted with the export opportunities of our country, suggesting to time the trip to major exhibition and fair events.
