During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the state and prospects of Belarusian-Montenegrin relations, discussing certain aspects of the Balkan regional issues and the current international agenda. The parties expressed interest in mutually beneficial liaisons between Belarus and Montenegro, stressing the cultural commonality of the two countries’ nations, as well as their traditions of hospitality.

The Belarusian Ambassador confirmed that our country is always open for partnership and development of ties in various fields.

“He noted the illegitimate Western sanctions imposed on Belarus as a serious obstacle to unlocking the potential of our co-operation, underlining the counterproductive nature of any restrictions, the burden and negative consequences of which affect the interests and economy of all parties. The sanctions policy only aggravates the situation in the world and is not aimed at solving any problems and contradictions,” the message reads.

Moreover, the importance of intensifying activities in the field of tourism was noted, taking into account that Montenegro is a popular tourist destination for Belarusian citizens, and Belarus has a wide network of sanatorium, medical and health institutions, which are known in many states.

The diplomats expressed their readiness to discuss all issues that would contribute to the realisation of the existing opportunities for bilateral interaction.
