Ambassador: Belarusians' tourist interest in India growing
Belarusians' tourist interest in India is growing – as stated by Ashok Kumar, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus, sb.by reports
In August 2023, a direct Minsk-Delhi flight was launched, and it is now operated once a week. Ambassador Ashok Kumar believes the flight has much contributed to the peoples’ friendship.
“This has allowed us to bring our states closer and improve economic, tourist and diplomatic relations,” the diplomat said. “I hope flights to other major cities and states of India – such as Mumbai, Bangalore, and Goa – will also be organised in the future. Actually, there is interest in them.”
Ashok Kumar reminded that co-operation between Belarus and India is not limited to tourism, “Last year, delegations from Belarus visited India, and the sides discussed the problems of science and technology, agriculture, food and pharmaceuticals. At present, inter-ministerial consultations and meetings of the intergovernmental commission – scheduled to be held in Minsk this year – are being prepared.”
