Ambassador: Belarus, UAE signed many agreements and memoranda, they need to be updated

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Belarus, Ibrahim Salim Mohammed al-Musharrah, visited the Grodno Region and attended an exposition in Lida featuring exhibits of fourteen local enterprises that represented various spheres of the economy, including food industry, mechanical engineering, and others

“Our countries enjoy diplomatic relations for more than 30 years, and it seems to me that now is the right time to develop and strengthen them. Everyone knows that the whole world is now put in emergency conditions, and we need to jointly decide on how to deliver the right products at the right time. Given the crisis that the modern world is facing, we are facing serious challenges that the leadership of our countries is striving to combat. The United Arab Emirates is a highly competitive market, and the best achievements of mankind and different manufacturers are presented there. It is the centre of attraction for many countries, and it is all the more pleasant to note that Belarusian products differ favourably in their quality. In the near future, we will think over in which areas our co-operation will be developed. For many years of liaisons, Belarus and the UAE have signed many agreements and memoranda, and we now need simply to update them,” the diplomat said.

As noted by Ibrahim Salim Mohammed al-Musharrah, the UAE Food Minister visited Belarus several years ago, and the interest in finding a partner who can be trusted was voiced then.

"It is the sphere of food security that is of major interest for us,” the diplomat stressed. “Just a few months ago, we began sowing wheat in the desert. We really hope to achieve much progress in this direction with the help of Belarusian producers. During today's excursion, we have realised that the Lida District can make a great contribution to the development of this sphere. Green energy is another global direction. We are concerned about everything related to climate change. Priority is given to products that do not harm the environment. Of course, other areas — in the economy, politics, education and culture – need to be strengthened as well.”
