Aleinik discussed with Zimbabwean Minister implementation of agricultural agreements

Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik has met with Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement of the Republic of Zimbabwe Anxious Jongwe Masuka – as reported by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service

“The parties stressed the friendly and mutually respectful nature of bilateral relations, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to the full implementation of the agreements in the field of agriculture and food production, ensuring Zimbabwe’s food security. They also discussed the supply of agricultural machinery and equipment from Belarus to Zimbabwe, as well as the possibility of using advanced Belarusian experience and technologies in the creation of agro-industrial enterprises in Zimbabwe,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry noted.

It is reported that Anxious Jongwe Masuka delivered a special message from the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the President of the Republic of Belarus.

“The visit of the Zimbabwean Agriculture Minister is an important element in the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Harare in January 2023, as well as the visit to the Republic of Belarus of the First Lady of Zimbabwe Auxillia Mnangagwa in April this year,” the Foreign Ministry stressed.

“As part of their stay in Belarus, the Zimbabwean delegation headed by Minister Anxious Masuka will visit a number of Belarusian milk and meat processing enterprises, take part in the work of the 33rd BELAGRO-2023 International Specialised Exhibition, as well as in the first meeting of the Belarusian-Zimbabwean working group on co-operation in agriculture,” said the press service.
