Aleinik: Belarus ready to supplement interaction within SCO, using its potential

Belarus consistently stands for ensuring regional stability, security and sustainable economic development, further improvement of practical co-operation and deepening of humanitarian dialogue within the framework of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) – as stated by Belarus’ First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik during his meeting with Bakhtier Khakimov, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for SCO Affairs, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service, during the meeting, the diplomats shared views on topical issues of interaction within the SCO framework, including taking into account the decision taken on September 16th, 2022, to start the procedure for admitting the Republic of Belarus to the SCO membership. Sergei Aleinik noted Belarus’ readiness to organically complement the multi-format co-operation within the SCO, using its transit, industrial and scientific potential.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that the two sides confirmed their focus on unlocking the huge potential of good neighbourliness and collaboration between states within the SCO framework.
