Additional measures for stable economic performance taken in Belarus

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has signed Decree No. 93 On Additional Measures to Ensure the Stable Functioning of the Economy – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

The document contains measures aiming to increase the stability of the economy under sanctions pressure, associated with the introduction of restrictive measures by foreign states. The decree envisages additional support for organisations in the real sector of the economy, housing construction, small and medium-sized businesses that export goods or manufacture import-substituting produce.

To implement these measures, the Government has been granted additional powers in the investment, budgetary, financial and tax spheres, enabling it to make decisions promptly, including on ensuring a balanced budget in the face of a predicted loss of its revenues.

Moreover, the Council of Ministers is endowed with a wide range of tools for prompt response to unfriendly actions of foreign countries.
