A roadmap for sharing economy development in Belarus soon to be ready
A number of strategic programme documents envisage creation of conditions for promotion of the sharing economy in Belarus, and – according to Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich – a corresponding roadmap will appear in the country, Belarus’ Economy Ministry reports
Sharing consumption is the collective use of goods or services, and it is not necessary to own them. Belarusians are already aware of this mechanism due to car and bike sharing, and also coworking. Other business models are also available. “This new approach has become most widespread in such areas as transport, real estate, consumer goods and private services, vehicles and equipment, and also finance. The sharing economy is now penetrating almost all areas of commercial activity," Ms. Brantsevich stressed.
According to the Deputy Economy Minister, the success of sharing services is ensured due to the benefits for all participants of economic relations, “This can explain an increasing attention of manufacturing companies to service activities, which – in addition to profit – ensure business sustainability through diversification of activities and increase consumer loyalty to the company's brand.”
Ms. Brantsevich added that the sharing models mostly include information services. Accordingly, ‘by creating conditions for promotion of the sharing economy in the country, we additionally contribute to development of the IT sector as a whole’, she commented.
The official also mentioned the economic efficiency, noting that the sharing models are gaining popularity in China and Russia. "In the near future, an action plan for development of the sharing economy in our country will be prepared,” Ms. Brantsevich stated.
