Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry launched Victory Day emotive project
Ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the University of Civil Protection of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry and the Women's Union of the Emergencies Ministry are jointly launching the Women of Victory patriotic video project . Work on the project has been underway for several months and the first episode will premiere tomorrow, April 22th. The final episode will be presented on May 9th – the day when the country remembers the feat of the winning generation.
The project includes ten mini-video narratives chronicling the lives of Belarusian women — Heroes of the Soviet Union — whose names are forever inscribed in the chronicles of the Great Patriotic War. Each story is a personal feat, every frame is a testament of immeasurable strength, and each name stands as a symbol of patriotism that proved stronger than fear, suffering or the passage of time.
The Women of Victory video project aims to liven up historical memory and overcome the generational gap. Emotionally charged videos are created through emotionally powerful storytelling in a contemporary format, that holds up to 21st century. Archival footage, historical reconstructions, voiceover narration and musical score combine into the media landscape where history doesn’t fade, but come to life.
“Each episode will be part of an information campaign aimed at strengthening spiritual bond between generations. The University of Civil Protection of Emergencies Ministry traditionally pays great attention to patriotic education, emphasising that true security of the country begins with internal strength, historical memory and national identity”, official representative of the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry Andrei Sadovsky noted. “Women of Victory is far more than just a narrative series, it is a message to future generations – a tribute to those who rescued the wounded under fire, went into a battle, conducted reconnaissance, transmitted coded messages, healed the injured, defended and kept faith. This is history’s voice, and it must never fall silent.”
The series of video narratives will be published on the official platforms of the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry and across social media. The organisers invite everyone to join in watching and together experience these stories that helped shape Belarus’ future.
