For the second year in a row, each month is dedicated to a certain type of tourism: there are 13 of them in total. In March, the focus was on popularising industrial tourism.
“At that time, open days and industrial tours were organised to acquaint visitors with the history, achievements, modern technologies and development plans of the companies. More than 920,000 people took part in some 2,850 such events across the country,” the National Tourism Agency said. “For comparison, about 440 events were held in the month of industrial tourism in 2024, and the number of participants was approximately 54,000 people. This means that this area of tourism is becoming more and more well-known and sought-after by domestic and foreign tourists, while enterprises are becoming more active in its development, opening their doors to guests and developing excursions.”
Notable events include, e.g., a field seminar in the Soligorsk District for representatives of the tourism industry. Tourism information centres in the regions have also prepared a variety of activities for everyone, including a photo competition, entitled I Have Been There!, online quizzes and thematic excursions for schoolchildren and other groups. An example of successful events within the industrial tourism month was the visit of the Domochai company – about 1,000 people visited the enterprise in March. In addition, companies from the food and engineering industries actively participated in the Leisure-2025 exhibition.
Speaking about the development of industrial tourism in Belarus, the National Tourism Agency pointed out that its popularity among tourists is growing. The dynamics were particularly strong in 2024, when nearly 267,000 people visited plants and factories, primarily the enterprises of the Industry Ministry, Bellegprom and Belgospishcheprom concerns, as well as the Construction and Architecture Ministry. At the same time, nearly 155,000 tourists visited the Industry Ministry enterprises – an increase of 67 percent compared to 2023.
More than 4,900 tourists visited the companies of the Bellegprom Concern, which is 26 percent more than in the previous year, while the enterprises subject to the Belgospishcheprom Concern were visited by over 58,400 people – 21 percent more than in 2023.
