700,000+ signatures already collected in support of Lukashenko

More than 700 thousand signatures have already been collected for Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko, who is participating in the electoral race

During his visit to the reconstructed Traktor Stadium in Minks today, Aleksandr Lukashenko told journalists, “I was informed yesterday [November 13] that more than 700 thousand signatures had been collected by then. To be honest, I did not follow that so carefully. As you now, I had business trips, Dazhynki festival celebrations, and so on. There are a lot of things to do at the end of the year.”

As noted by the President, the harvesting of vegetables is being completed now. Summing up the agricultural year in brief, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus has everything – and even more than expected – at present. Given that food prices have surged in Russia, the republic can export more products there.

Continuing the election-related theme, the Head of State revealed his plans to meet with the leadership of his initiative group in the near future – to thank them at the first stage and discuss further actions. “The main thing is that other persons planning to run for President also collect signatures. As I am reported, people are not very willing to sign for other candidates,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

In this regard, the Belarusian leader urged to sign up for other persons representing different political forces, “Let them participate in the election. I was in favour of all parties and large public organisations nominating their candidates.”

According to the Head of State, there are his supporters among the participants in the election race. “We will fight together for the course that we have long defined. There is no fear that everyone who wants to participate will do this. We will come to an agreement. We will give no more opportunity to bring the county to its knees, to humiliate or destroy it. This will never happen, no matter how much someone may want,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
