7.9m+ Ukrainian refugees arrived in Europe

The number of refugees coming to Europe from Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s special operation has reached 7,915,287, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reports

According to the UNHCR, from February 24th, 2022 to January 3rd, 2023, Russia accepted the greatest number of Ukrainians: 2,852,395. Other states where at least 100,000 refugees arrived include Poland (1,553,707), Germany (1,021,667), Czech Republic (476,025), Italy (173,231), Spain (164,705), the UK (152,200), Bulgaria (148,451), France (118 994), Romania (106,786), Slovakia (105,205), and Moldova (102,103).

4,905,293 Ukrainians participate in national temporary protection and support programmes. In total, since the beginning of the special operation, 17,139,782 refugees have left Ukraine for the neighbouring countries, and 9,180,679 moved in the opposite direction.
