30+ mass shootings registered in US since early 2023

At least 30 mass shootings have occurred in the US since the beginning of this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive research organisation, TASS reports

In particular, according to the organisation, 31 cases of mass shooting were recorded across seventeen different states over 17 days of this year.

So, on January 17th, as a result of shooting in Washington, one person was killed, and two more were injured. A day earlier, on January 16th, six people, including one child, were victims of gun violence in Tulare County, California.

According to Gun Violence Archive, shooting incidents in the United States last year caused the death of at least 43,600 people. At least 37,900 people were injured in 2022, including 4,400 children. At least 1,600 children died.

Gun Violence Archive was founded in 2013, preparing daily statistics on firearms incidents based on information received from approximately 7,500 sources.
