Belarus, Russia’s Vologda Region set to reach $1bn in trade in 2025

The volume of mutual trade between the Republic of Belarus and Russia’s Vologda Region totalled almost $700m in 2024 – as noted by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik during his talks with Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov in Moscow

The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission also noted that the partners have set a new goal of $1bn in mutual trade for 2025. He stressed that there is a good basis for the growth of trade turnover. In particular, the products of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant are in demand in Belarus, while in the same production centre in the Vologda Region there is a company that assembles Belarusian agricultural machinery.

“You and I have much more potential to improve our co-operation. I am convinced that our potential has not yet been tapped,” Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov replied to the Belarusian Ambassador. “We have a common culture, a common civilisational platform. We are one nation, we share common historical roots, cultural, linguistic, spiritual and world views. On this basis, I always set a task for my employees working on the Russian-Belarusian track from the Vologda Region: that we rely on this strong foundation of kinship and cultural proximity to achieve mutually beneficial pragmatic partnership projects. When signing agreements, we should be sure that this document has concrete content, that it is not an empty paper.”
