Belarusian athletes claim 7 medals at 13th European Youth Olympic Festival-2015 (EYOF) in Tbilisi
On the final day of the competition, judo wrestler Yegor Kukharenko earned the last bronze award for the Belarusian national team. Performing in the over 90kg category, he had almost lost to his rival just three seconds before the end of the match, yet managed to conduct a successful last-moment hold and claim victory.

Belarusian gymnast Yegor Sharamkov became the festival’s champion in the vault finals, while Margarita Kachanova (800m sprint) and Yan Khalupa (javelin) occupied fourth places in their disciplines. Igor Zubko took gold in the 400m while Tatiana Romanovich did so in hammer throwing (also setting a personal record). Vladislav Bulakhov earned bronze in the long jump (and set a personal best) while Vadim Chernyshev took bronze in the shot putt, as did Dmitry Borovkov for his hammer throwing.

In the overall medal standings, the national team of Belarus occupied 14th place, with seven medals (three gold and four bronze). The national squad of Russia has won, claiming the greatest number of awards: 37 medals.

At the closing ceremony of the 13th European Youth Olympic Festival, champion Igor Zubko was awarded the honour of carrying the state flag of Belarus.
