Yet to be mastered market comparable with that of Russia

BelAZ sets up joint venture with Indian Enrika Trades & Services to provide maintenance services for dump trucks in India

Belaz Enrika Mining Equipment & Services JV will enable BelAZ to secure a foothold in the attractive and promising Indian market. According to the Deputy Head of the Commercial Department for Non-CIS States at BelAZ, Denis Yaskevich, the capacity of the Indian market is comparable with Russia: BelAZ’s major export destination. Calculations indicate that over 100 Belarusian dump trucks with a lifting capacity from 100 to 300 tonnes could be shipped to India annually. Moreover, joint assembly facilities may be set up, with India acting as a springboard for promoting sales to neighbouring countries. BelAZ has already concluded a contract to ship its vehicles to Indonesia.

Last year, BelAZ did not export to India but, in 2012, it is taking part in a tender to supply 77 two hundred-tonne dump trucks to the major coal mining company: Coal India. Further prospects for bilateral co-operation were discussed in Minsk, during a sitting of the Belarusian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission for Co-operation in Economy, Trade, Industry, Science and Culture. It was co-chaired by the Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jyotiraditya Scindia.
