Belarus’ healthcare system ahead of that of the USA, according to Bloomberg

The rating compares various countries under such criteria as: life expectancy; relative per capita cost of health care to the national economy; and absolute per capita cost of health care.

Belarus (included in the ranking for the first time) is said to have an average life expectancy of 72.1 years, while healthcare expenditure stands at 5 percent and healthcare cost per capita amounts to $339.

Singapore tops the Bloomberg ranking, with life expectancy of 82.1 years, healthcare cost per capita of $2,426 and healthcare cost at 4.5 percent of GDP.

Singapore is followed by Hong Kong, Italy, Japan and South Korea. Russia is at the bottom of the ranking, occupying 51st place.
