Anastasia Prokopenko wins Modern Pentathlon World Cup round in Hungarian Kecskemet

In the finals, the Belarusian team leader came sixth after fencing. She failed to do well in the 200m freestyle swimming, occupying 35th position. However, after show jumping, the Belarusian moved into 17th place and her successful run and shooting brought Anastasia victory in the fourth Cup stage. Across five events, she earned 1,352 points, leaving her ahead of Hungary’s Zsofia Foldhazi (1,342). Bronze went to French Belhamri Julie (1,339 points).

Another Belarusian — Yekaterina Orel — also performed in Hungary. After three events (fencing, swimming and show jumping), she was among the strongest, but failed to perform successfully in the combined event (running and shooting). As a result, she was placed 14th overall.
