Mikhail Finberg′s Belarus orchestra of symphonic and pop music entered the 19th season with a new status of "national"."Like any musician in the orchestra, I am proud of this high acknowledgment," said maestro Finberg. "On the other side it is a big responsibility for the orchestra as the very word "national" implies "exclusive, especially significant for the state," he emphasized. "A national band should reflect nation′s culture and convey it to following generations."
Belarus orchestra of symphonic and pop music is ready to confirm this prestigious status again and again. According to Mikhail Finberg, the company has interesting creative prospects as well as their own audience. The band′s popularity has outgrown the republic long ago; the orchestra is well known in Russia, Ukraine, Baltic states and in Europe.
Belarus orchestra of symphonic and pop music plays most diverse pieces of various genres, classical and modern. The repertoire includes works by Belarusian composers and poets. "These belong to our people and contribute to our spiritual heritage," says Mikhail Finberg.
The company works a lot. Today there are 21 musical programs featuring lyrics by modern and classic poets. Orchestra′s portfolio includes authorial concerts of many Belarusian composers.
And, of course, the unique band is especially proud of its concerts in smaller towns of Belarus — Nesvizh, Zaslavl, Novogrudok, Mir and Mstislavl. Maestro Finberg′s orchestra has conducted over 60 own festivals. This is apart from significant projects within "Slavonic Bazaar" international arts festival.
