Alexander Lukashenko met with the three-time Olympic biathlon champion, the Hero of Belarus, the UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, Darya Domracheva
At the meeting, they discussed questions of the development of the biathlon in the country. Alexander Lukashenko, in particular, was interested in the preparation of the Belarus national team for the next season, and also the condition of the biathlon facilities.
The Head of State reminded of his promise to have new biathlon facilities ready for training — the biathlon track in Raubichi and the Zayachya Polyana ski and biathlon facility. The President said that everything would be ready in the next few months. “I was assured that there will be no problems with training of the national team, and biathletes in general. All will be done, as promised,” Mr. Lukashenko noted.
They also discussed the preparation of young biathletes. The President considered it important that young athletes could have the possibility to train together with famous biathletes. Mr. Lukashenko asked Darya Domracheva to help the young biathletes adopt the experience of famous athletes. “I ask you and require from biathlon heads that the younger generation is to join you during some training. You know, when you train with famous people you can learn a lot from them,” said the Head of State.
