Nikita Tsmyg has fulfilled the Olympic standard in the medley relay, swimming backstroke in the first stage — 4x100m — within the 53.99 seconds, thus setting a new record for the country; previously belonging to Pavel Sankovich (54.38 seconds). The 19-year-old swimmer became the sixth Belarusian athlete to fulfil the Olympic qualifying time standards.
Victor Staselovich became the seventh Belarusian swimmer to earn an Olympic ticket. He achieved the Olympic qualifying time standards in the first stage of the 4x100m mixed medley relay, swimming backstroke in 54.35 seconds.
They are in the company of Victor Staselovich and Nikita Tsmyg, Alexandra Gersimenya, Svetlana Khokhlova, Yulia Khitraya, Pavel Sankovich and Yevgeny Tsurkin who have also qualified to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
