In particular, Belarus’ trade relations have become more active with Spain and France. “Crisis phenomena made our partners revise their trade relations, to become more pragmatic,” Mr. Ulakhovich comments.

The BelCCI Deputy Chairman sees the development of Belarusian exports as a key task for 2016. Belarus needs to expand its presence on traditional markets and to master new markets in Africa, Latin America and South East Asia, with help from diplomats accredited in Belarus.

Pay fines immediately

State Traffic Police fines for violations may be paid anywhere, by card

The project to equip State Traffic Police cars with payment terminals was launched in 2014. A Belarusian bank has equipped over 300 traffic police cars with terminals accepting plastic banking cards, with the first having become operational in the Brest Region.

“These devices enable drivers to pay fines for violations there and then. The procedure is now easy and convenient,” comments Anna Banadyk, the senior inspector for special orders of the Interior Ministry’s State Traffic Police Department.

Terminals can accept cards with chips and magnetic stripes, allowing drivers who accept their violation of traffic rules to pay a fine immediately, receiving a receipt, which is attached to paperwork.
