Тео considers his performance in the final of the Eurovision-2014 Song Contest to be worthy

After returning from Copenhagen, at Minsk Airport, Teo answered question about his first impressions of the competition admitted, “I cannot yet judge how I was estimated. I do not know yet whether it is good or bad result. But I can say that our performance in the final was worthy.”

The Belarusian performer, with his song Cheesecake finished in 16th place. It was the fourth time in 11 years that Belarus had performed in the final of the contest. Currently, the highest Belarusian Eurovision result belongs to Dmitry Koldun, with his sixth placed Work Your Magic in 2007. In 2010, the pop group 3+2, singing Butterflies, reached 24th. Last year, Alena Lanskaya improved this result, finishing in 16th place with the composition Solayoh.

This year’s competition was won by the bearded Conchita Wurst from Austria. The most shocking participant of the musical event won ahead of schedule, gaining 290 points, enough to win her the title of the new European star. Second place went to the performers from the Netherlands — The Common Linnets with their song Calm After the Storm. In third place was Sanna Nilsen from Sweden with the song Undo.

The winner of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, Conchita Wurst, may come to Minsk with a concert, a BELTA correspondent said. Negotiations with Austrian representatives are being carried out now and the performance is planned for summer.
Behind the female pseudonym of Conchita Wurst is the 29-year-old, Thomas Neuwirth. Earlier, Thomas performed under his own name, and even sang in a group, but it did not bring any special success. “I always wanted to sing, but restrained my impulses. It is easier for me to do this in the image of Conchita. I am before the public, but at the same time, I do not open myself,” Thomas said. “Certainly, the beard is a provocation. It is a way to tell everyone that appearances are not important. I have nothing anatomically female, I am completely a man, but it seems to me that in all of us there is something from both sexes,” said Thomas in one of his numerous interviews.
