Turkey interested in wider business co-operation with Belarus, including in the automobile building sphere

By Yelena Domanova

“We’re trying to contribute to the development of bilateral relations between our countries’ enterprises in the field of automobile building. In particular, we’re interested in the manufacture of spare parts for cars and other products related to automobiles,” explains the Chairman of the Turkish side of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), Gursel Ongoren. Information technologies and furniture production are other attractive spheres for bilateral liaisons.

Mr. Ongoren recently visited Minsk with his delegation but has made the trips several times over the past 3-4 years, repeatedly receiving a positive impression. He is familiar with enterprises in our chemical industry, in the textile branch and in agricultural machinery construction, having studied each as a possible area of investment. We held talks on the development of bilateral trade-economic relations and investments into Belarusian projects with the Turkish delegation visiting Mogilev’s free economic zone.
