The enterprises should be able not only to produce qualitative goods but also to deliver them to customers with the least expense possible. For example, Belarusian “Belneftekhim” delivers potash fertilizers to consumers using different means of transportation. If we speak about the Baltic Sea direction, the greater work is done by Belarusian railway. Then the cargo is transported by sea vessels of foreign companies, — said Nikolay Verkhovets, the first deputy minister of transport and communications of the country, meeting with journalists. — The same system should be used by other domestic enterprises. The services level of the transportation in the present year should grow up considerably in comparison with 2006. The international specialized exhibition “Transport and logistics-2007” which was held in Minsk for the first time also aimed at the promotion of the idea. More than 100 enterprises from Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus participated in the exhibition. All means of transport, dispatching and logistics, customs services and terminals, equipment for cargo handling works, designing, construction and road network maintenance as well as science and education in the field of transport were presented.
Transport and logistics form “the circulatory system” of the contemporary economy of Belarus. For example, today Belarusian railway is repaid basically owing to the transit transportations.
Grigory Bondarev, the director of the company “Technical equipment and communications”, stated that it is necessary to attract investments into the development of infrastructure, into the growth of export of transport and accompanying services in order to solve the problems put before the transport branch.
During the exhibition a specialized congress on discussion of economic, legal, organizational, scientific and technical problems of transport branch took place. Analytical materials based on its results about the condition and prospects of the development of the Republic transport branch are presented to the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
