International Organization for Migration positively evaluates Belarusian policy in the sphere of migration flows’ administration.

General Director of organization Brunson McKinley, who took part in the plenary meeting of the CIS interparlamentary assembly in St. Petersburg where different questions of adjusted migration legal support policy were discussed, has noted, that Belarus is considered to be an important country from the point of view of migration flow administration. The first reason is in its geographical position since our republic is situated in the middle of Europe on the border between the European Union and the former Soviet countries. And the second reason is that the CIS headquarters is placed in Belarus and therefore all decisions in such sphere are concentrated here. “Belarus occupies a very progressive position in the plan of migration administration especially regarding combating human trafficking,” — General Director IOM believed. Brunson McKinley noted that the Republic of Belarus has approves the UNO resolution on reaction against human trafficking. In 2007 the International centre for training and retraining specialists in the sphere of migration and combating human trafficking was established in Minsk. The representatives of all CIS states and other world countries have possibility to study there.
