Brest Region and Italian Calabria Region to develop economic, scientific and cultural co-operation
The Brest Region and the Italian Calabria Region have signed a protocol of intention in the spheres of economics, sci-tech and cultural co-operation. The Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Konstantin Sumar, joined the Deputy Chair of the Regional Council of Calabria, A. Sarra, in signing the document. Negotiations with the leadership of the Italian region also involved the Belarusian Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Mr. Yevgeny Shestakov.
In line with the document, the Belarusian and Italian regions aim to promote economic, sci-tech, cultural and tourism collaboration — to mutual benefit. This will include creating favourable conditions for implementing initiatives, such as the establishment of an Italian industrial district in the Brest Region.
