His song, My Accent will be performed by Minskers Tatiana Stakhovskaya and Anna Ray, as well as Victoria Nazarko of Grodno, Taisiya Serikova of Gomel and Marina Putnikova of Gorki. They’ll soon start rehearsing the song, which tells of how a girl is always ready to be close to her beloved, following him everywhere. The flavour of the song is innocent, and is sung in a Belarusian accent, despite entries traditionally being adapted to suit European tastes. Alexander Rybak notes that singing in English with a poor accent isn’t a good idea, advocating for performing in one’s native language, so that this becomes a strength rather than a weakness. He hopes the group will please their own country and Europe.
