Minsk hosts Belarusian-Hungarian business forum and match-making session between representatives of business circles from our two countries

Belarus and Hungary are keen to remove administrative barriers and raise trade turnover, notes the State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, László Szabó. Speaking before the Belarusian-Hungarian business forum, he stressed, “The purpose of our visit is to remove any administrative barriers that may impede economic relations. Moreover, we are discussing forms of financial support for export and import operations between our countries.” At present, Belarusian-Hungarian trade relations are developing intensively. “If we compare H1 2013 with H1 2014, we can see a 30 percent increase. We’re interested in all opportunities for co-operation between our countries,” stresses Mr. Szabó.

The Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Ulakhovich, believes that business co-operation between Belarus and Hungary has been improving over the last two years. “A Belarusian-Hungarian business forum took place in Budapest last year, at which there was strong interest; representatives of about 100 Hungarian companies attended,” he notes.

The export of Belarusian products to Hungary has been steadily rising over the last few years; however, trade needs balancing. “We have very serious prospects, primarily in the area of manufacturing co-operation. We’re interested in the development of full-scale collaboration in spheres such as construction, pharmaceuticals, and machine building,” adds Mr. Ulakhovich.
