Productive summer

The 10th International Summer University of UNESCO Clubs — 2005, hosted by the Belarusian Public Association of UNESCO Clubs (BPAUC), was held in Rakov near Minsk. UNESCO Clubs members, Belarusian organisations and association members — along with young people aged between 14 and 16 from Russia, Lithuania and other countries have taken part. The project aims to offer facilities for establishing contacts, sharing experience and furthering the creative potential of young people. Fields of study include the environment, conflict studies, world cultural and natural heritage, human rights, communication and information, debate, health, cultural studies and human resources management. Cultural outings have been set up as part of the programme.

A University Olympic Games, commercial fairs and tours of Minsk have been organised for participants as part of the curriculum too. The expert panel supervising the project is made up of UNESCO specialists, UNO and UNICEF representatives in Belarus, the National UNESCO Committee of Belarus and other republican and international organisations.
