Premiere of the ballet Carmen with Belarusian talent held in Paris


A premiere of the ballet Carmen, staged by a creative team from Belarus, Armenia, Russia, Ukraine and France, was held in Paris.

Pavel Latushko, Belarus’ Ambassador to France, and representatives from the creative intellectual elite of Belarus, Russia and France attended the premiere of the performance. In total, an audience of 5,000 visited the premiere, which was directed by Russian choreographer Nadezhda Kalinina. Victor Voytik, Professor of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, composed the musical arrangement by the famous French composer, Georges Bizet. Alla Sorokina, resident artist at the National Gorky Academy Drama Theatre, was responsible for the theatre staging and, in addition, the Grodno Choir Orchestra accompanied the performance. The French audience responded enthusiastically with warm applause.

The production will now tour France, visiting more than 50 cities.
