Moscow hosts World Modern Pentathlon Championship, with Belarusians Irina Prosentsova and Yekaterina Orel capturing early bronze, in women’s relay

In total, the Belarusian duo earned 1,405 points, behind German and British sportswomen, to finish third. They came third in fencing, and seventh in swimming and riding (of seven teams), but were unrivalled in the combined event. The Russians led the relay but finished fourth overall, despite a 32 second advantage over the British. Sadly, their marksmanship proved poor.
