Roadmap to be drafted to improve Belarus’ investment climate

Some of the suggestions discussed at the Broadening the Horizons: Investment, Finance, Development Forum recently held in Minsk will be included in the development roadmap. “This document can be used by the Government to correct certain aspects of economic policy,” Natalia Nikandrova, the Director of the National Agency of Investment and Privatisation of Belarus, says.

The roadmap will include proposals by private businesses and foreign investors on ways to create additional favourable conditions for the attraction and utilisation of investments and the elimination of barriers hindering investment activities.

The Broadening the Horizons: Investment, Finance, Development Forum was hosted by Minsk in late September. Experts discussed strategies for attracting foreign investments to Belarus, prospects for investment co-operation with the financial institutions of the European Union, the Eurasian Economic Union and China, and the opportunities for involving American investors in Belarusian projects. Other topical issues were also in focus.
