New Rules

The new procedures have been approved by the government. A foreigner wishing to have a residence permit in Belarus is to apply to the diplomatic mission or consular service of Belarus in the country of habitual residence. As for foreigners that temporarily stay in Belarus, they are supposed to address local internal affairs bodies.

The new rules approved by a resolution of the government determine the procedure of consideration of applications, contain the list of the documents necessary to obtain permanent residence permits and set a term of three months to consider applications and issue permits.

The document also envisages measures to establish control over the stay of the foreigners that have been granted permits and defines the procedure of annulment of permits.
