New home promotes wellbeing

The new social services building for the residential centre in Korelichi is equipped with all the necessary equipment to ensure comfortable stays for the elderly and disabled.

It has taken around two years to reconstruct the old building, which now boasts a bright façade and comfortable interiors. The Director of the state-run Social Services for Korelichi District Population Centre, Inessa Semibratova, shares her impressions, “We previously had an old building which lacked space and now we can truly boast about our excellent facilities. In the future, six departments will become fully operational including two daycare departments for the elderly and disabled. This year, we also plan to construct a house to allow joint independent visits for the elderly, while also equipping accommodation to be used for the winter season. We already run similar houses in other districts of the Grodno Region but this is actually a new departure for us. 48 old people have already registered to attend our daycare departments, while the department for the disabled will accept thirty young people with various special needs. They will also enjoy rehabilitation workshops specialising in decorative-and-applied arts.”
