National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus to stage performance in Moscow

The performance explores the establishment of the Belarusian nation, the struggle of principalities, and 14th-15th century politics. Staged at the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia, in late June, it will feature as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Russia, with preparations already underway.

Meanwhile, the Days of Culture are being hosted by the Business and Cultural Centre of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, in June, featuring plays by the Gorky National Academic Drama Theatre and the Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama.

The Business and Cultural Centre regularly hosts performances by Belarusian theatres. Who Laughs Last, by the Theatre Studio of Film Actors, is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Kondrat Krapiva and has already proven a great success with Moscow audiences. The theatre now has an invitation to perform Vladimir Gostyukhin’s Anna Snegina.

Russian theatre companies are frequent guests in Belarus, and are regular participants at Belarusian theatre festivals. Last year, the cultural ministries of our two friendly countries extended their agreement on co-operation for 2015-2017, including tour exchanges.
