Dozens of obsolete tools are to be substituted with modern equipment produced in Holland, Germany and Slovakia as part of a project costing 30m+ Euros. In addition to its own funds, the company is using those from the Innovative Fund, from Belneftekhim Concern’s special fund and loans from foreign banks. “The major challenge is to replace equipment without losing the pace of production,” notes the Head of Belshina’s Advanced Development and Investment Department, Dmitry Dubasov. “It’s quite problematic to do this in our narrow workshops, which are operating to full capacity.”

However, the plant has already assembled and installed several new tools, which are now being adjusted. Modernisation should be completed by the end of the year.
