Military men gain enhanced protection

Belarusian army to use new protective helmets and tactical glasses

Following research tests, the Armed Forces of Belarus are using OT-1 and OT-1M tactical glasses, designed to protect the eyes from fragment injuries — from exploding shells, mines and bombshells — and from mechanical damage during conflict. Made from polycarbonate and comprising a carcass, a mask and ballistic lenses, the OT-1M type is additionally equipped with an air-ejector fan, able to de-mist the lenses.

“It’s planned to provide the whole military personnel of the Armed Forces with such individual equipment, except for the crews of armoured and airborne vehicles,” explains the military department. New individual equipment is currently being distributed, including helmets protecting from small-arms bullets, and shell, mine and bombshell fragments, as well as from general injury.
