Belarus and Germany consider establishing a joint venture in this country to
make soft drinks and infant food.

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Germany Vladimir Skvortsov, the technicalities are being discussed now.
Besides, Belarus and Germany may set up joint ventures to produce napery and small wooden constructions. The diplomat appreciated the investment and credit cooperation between the two countries. According to him, trade and economic, scientific and technical and humanitarian contacts at the level of regions and separate cities are very active now.

“The key cooperation elements are trade and economic contacts,” the ambassador said.

He reminded that Belarus aimed to bring mutual trade with Germany to $1 billion in 2002, and in 2005, the target was raised to $2 billion. Commenting on exports to Germany Skvortsov noted that Belarus wished to supply more intellectual products. It is essential for Belarus to preserve the niches it used to have and find new outlets.
