Live performances for the capital

Theatre carnival to ‘conquer’ Minsk’s centre in early May
More than twenty theatrical performances are being held in the Upper Town, comprising street groups from Belarus, Germany, Poland, Russia and Transnistria. Minskers will be offered free interactive and choreographic performances, clownery and shows on stilts. The Let’s Make Art Together! project will encourage passers-by to join in, and will finish with a performance by the Vitebsk Koleso Theatre: Malevich. Portrait in Two Dimensions.

The festival promises to bring together a record number of spectators — around 100,000 people. The Minsk forum of street theatres has been conducted annually since 2013 and is an international festival of theatre and circus art, being organised by the National Centre of Contemporary Arts. The festival is a professional venue for street artistes and has already managed to register the Minsk Circus and the Drama Theatre among participants.
