Fourth international puppet exhibition “Balaganchik” took place in Minsk. The event was held at Minsk regional center of folk art and displayed works by best puppet masters from all Belarus regions. The exhibition was devoted to jubilee of Hans Christian Andersen and offered theatrical and fairytale puppets. It is remarkable that not only members of Belarusian union of folk art and Belarusian union of designers but also amateur puppet masters and children creative clubs participated in he exhibition.
New works by Marina Skidan, interior puppets by Olga Starinskaya and Alexei Martynov, and costumed dolls by the Bairachny couple draw attention of visitors. Marina Kapilova, a renowned Belarusian master, presented her line of puppets called “Deck of cards”. The exposition also offered displays of “Nash” private puppet theater and Molodechno center of children creative works.
