The Cup of Belarus offered personal and team prizes. The renowned Ivan Ivankov came from the USA where he is training now. He told Belarus reporter that it is an honor for him to take part in such a tournament in his native land. According to him, Belarus is able to fight for a medal at the forthcoming World championship. The best proof is successful performance of his sports colleagues in Belarus.
Team gold went to men from Gomel and to women from Grodno. The best in the personal tournament were Denis Savenkov (floor exercises and bar), Dmitry Savitsky (vault and horse), Ivan Ivankov (parallel bars) and Igor Kozlov (rings). The all-round prize was won by Dmitry Savitsky.
Nadezhda Vysotskaya was the first in vaulting among women. Olga Shakot starred on the boom and Anastasiya Marachkovskaya got the gold in floor exercises. Irina Siruts was second to none on parallel bars as well as in the all-round.
