He stressed that Italy was interested in a long-term targeted cooperation with Belarus, especially in the recuperation of Belarusian children from the Chernobyl-hit areas in Italy.At present there are many charitable organizations in Italy involved in the minimization of the effects of the Chernobyl accident. All of them have been united into a federation. Last year Italy accounted for most of the Belarusian children that were on recuperation holidays abroad.
Antonio Bianchi specifically noted that the federation planned to carry out a large number of additional charitable actions timed to the anniversary of the tragedy in order to raise funds to be able to provide recreation to more children from Belarus.
