In 2015 alone, over a thousand new jobs were created, with many based at the State Committee for Science and Technology. Among new factory lines is the production of rolled steel, at the Belarusian Steel Works’ wire-rod mill. Output is expected to be worth about 430m Euro annually, with around three-quarters set for export. Last year, 629 new jobs were created at the site, and around 110,000 tonnes of rolled metal manufactured.

Meanwhile, the Science and Technology Park BNTU Polytechnic has begun high-tech production of medicines which are new for the country, and of equipment to conduct cardiovascular, osteo-synthesis and knee joint surgeries, and to treat skin cancers. Production volume stands at around $19m, with more than half planned for export.
