Oleg Novitsky called to Cherven from space almost every day

On October 23, 2012 the «Soyuz TMA-06M» craft was launched from the Baikonur spaceport. On board were Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky, Evgeny Tarelkin and NASA astronaut Kevin Ford. That was a special day for Belarus. The third representative of our country — a native of Cherven district Oleg Novitsky journeyed into space. The team had to conduct about 50 experiments within the framework of the Russian program of applied research and experimentation.

143 days, and that is how much time the crew have been in orbit, flew by imperceptibly. And on Saturday, March 16 at 6 hours 6 minutes Minsk time «Soyuz TMA-06M» space capsule landed 86 kilometers north-east of the Kazakh town Arkalyk.

One of the first phone calls that Oleg Novitsky made after having returned to the Earth, was to Belarus, where his mother Valentina Eduardovna was waiting.

— «We are back, mom!» — these words I`ll remember for a lifetime, — Valentina Novitskaya says.  — All the days that Oleg was in space, I felt very anxious. I would not go away from the phone, always waiting for his call. He dialed my number as soon as time permitted him, as well. We talked about work, health, and about what he had eaten for lunch or breakfast. And I could hardly sleep for four nights before the landing.

Valentina Eduardovna is not going to pay her son a visit (for she have already visited Baikonur four or five times during these 143 days), but will be waiting for him at home.

— I would be happy to receive him right now, — she smiles. — And he is a domestic person, too, so he will come home as soon as he can. But now Oleg must undergo a course of rehabilitation.
