Belarusian conductor, Alexander Anisimov,was awarded the French order ‘For Merit’ of the highest degree. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus, H.E. Mrs. Dominique Gazuy handed over the award to the conductor at the formal presentation on the occasion of the national holiday of France.

The Head of the French diplomatic mission noted that Alexander Anisimov received the award for his big contribution to the development of Belarusian-French cultural ties. She also noted that cultural ties between Belarus and France have developed well. In her opinion, the activity of French-Belarusian centre for European studies, which co-operates with University of Bordeaux, deserves a high estimation.

The diplomat reminded that it was the first time this year that Minsk had received a friendship group from the French parliament. Consultations between the Ministries for Foreign Affairs of the two countries were also carried out. As for economic co-operation, she pointed out that there are already many French enterprises in Belarus.
