First round has finished

Dinamo Minsk and Shakhtyor Soligorsk have beaten their rivals in the second matches of the Europa League’s first qualifying round and continue to struggle for their place in the group stage. Their next opponents are stronger than Latvian Spartaks and Faroe Islands’ Runavik, but they stand a good chance against Irish St. Patrick’s and Slovenian Domžale.

Dinamo Minsk footballers, after their home victory over Latvian Spartaks (2:1), have played a return match in Jurmala. In the 11th minute, forward Vladimir Khvashchinsky scored the first goal and, by the end of the game, defender Abdussalam Munir, from Libya, had scored again.

Soligorsk’s Shakhtyor, in the return match in the first round, confidently defeated the Faroe Islands’ team (Runavík) — 5:0 — at home, at Stroitel Stadium. The first Faroe Islands match resulted in Shakhtyor winning 2:0. Dinamo Minsk will next face Ireland’s St. Patrick’s Athletic while Shakhtyor will battle Slovenian Domžale for a place in the next round. From the second round, Belarusian Torpedo Zhodino will join the other squads, initially playing Hungarian Debrecen.
